Application 01
Energy Portfolio Dispatch and Allocation
Nominate fixed shares of several generators across customer loads while reducing oversupply and increasing the allocated energy that can be absorbed by the customer.
Select generation and load profiles, compare the combined 24-hour shapes, then run a MILP that chooses one allocation percentage from each generator to each customer for the full day.
Interactive example
Hourly generation for no selected generators, with the combined selected total.
Hourly load for no selected loads, with the combined selected total.
How this works
- Each selected generator is assigned one fixed percentage to each selected customer for the full 24-hour period.
- The optimisation maximises energy delivered within the selected load profiles while penalising energy allocated above load.
- Allocation percentages are fixed across all 24 hours.
- Generator allocation percentages may sum to no more than 100%.
- Wheeled energy cannot exceed either allocated generation or customer load.
- Oversupply is allocated generation above the corresponding load.
- The objective maximises wheeled energy less an oversupply penalty.
